The Green mayoral candidate for Hackney has said that, if elected, she would “really put the power back to the people”.
Zoe Garbett says she will make residents an essential part of the decision making process, not just a token afterthought, with plans that include a citizens’ assembly.
Zoe would tackle the cost of living crisis by exempting the poorest from council tax and reducing rent for council tenants, while making Hackney greener by: “bringing forward net zero by ten years”.
As Mayor, she would aim to make Hackney greener, with a borough designed “around residents out wheeling, walking and cycling”.
“I’m absolutely committed to reducing traffic miles by 40 per cent and bringing forward net zero by ten years,” she said.
