The Mayor of London’s target of zero carbon homes by 2030 will not be met, according to a report by the London Assembly Housing Committee.
Sian Berry, chair of the committee, said ‘The world is in a race against time to fight climate change, and action on existing homes can no longer be put off or tackled without proper commitment from our leaders.’
The report, which has been sent to the Mayor and the government, made recommendations such as ensuring London gets a fair share of funding to make these vital changes, as well as bringing together landlords and tenants to look at how they work together to get to zero carbon homes by 2030.
