Polling predictions show the Greens are in a strong position throughout the country. In Brighton, the Evening Argus puts Greens on 38% ahead of all other political parties. London strongholds have consistently given the Greens over 20% in places like Hackney, Lewisham, Islington and Harringey. A European wide poll shows Greens on 31% whilst a national UK poll gives Greens 9% of the vote.
Darren Johnson, Green Party Mayoral candidate said, "We have everything to play for in these elections. People understand that Greens are serious about the issues and put forward positive policies based on real solutions. The public are fed up with the hypocrisy of the other parties who say one thing whilst doing another."
Greens point out the inconsistencies of the other parties who claim that climate change is very serious whilst at the same time calling for an expansion of road building and new airports.
Darren continued, "They can’t have it both ways. Only the Greens are honest enough to say that hard choices have to be made if we are to increase quality of life for all and protect the needs of future generations."
Jean Lambert London’s Green MEP said, "Voting Green means helping to elect politicians who care about present day needs as well as our future. It means giving Greens a stronger voice in Europe to protect your environment. I want a Europe where justice and sustainability underpin every aspect of political decision making,"
