The ceremony took place on 13th May at SITA UCN Park Campus Northampton. This year’s awards were the most successful ever, with more entries than ever before received. The NBEA’s are now a recognised and respected scheme throughout the county.
There were seven award categories overall. The Hind Hotel was the winner of the less than 50 employees category. The Northamptonshire Environmental Forum cited the hotels’ efforts in recycling, fitting of energy saving devices and on site-consultations when detailing its decision.
Commenting on the achievement Shasha Khan said, "I am proud that our family business has been recognised for its eco-programme, especially when you consider the calibre of the companies that entered. It is important that businesses realise that it is possible to follow a principle of sustainable and best environmental practice and reduce costs at the same time. There are several organisations within the county that have assisted us, including Eco-Check and Wellingborough Council and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them."
