"I find the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s comments about Belmarsh detainees rather surprising, given that no one from the Met, nor the security services has ever bothered to pop down the road and interview any of these terror suspects. I can’t think of any other situation where we would deprive someone of freedom, not tell them what the evidence is and not even bother to ask them questions about the terrible things which they are meant to have done. Presumably, now that these men are being tagged and forced to live under curfew at home, the Commissioner will find time to send someone round to question them?
