Responding to the Mayor’s announcement of his plans to increase charges for more polluting vehicles, Darren Johnson, a Green Party member of the London Assembly said:
"The Mayor’s announcement is fantastic news. Ever since congestion charging was introduced I have argued that the most polluting vehicles should pay much more. I fully support the plans to charge the big gas guzzlers £25 per day and end the residents’ discount for them. This will mean the end of the Chelsea Tractor in Chelsea and provides a real incentive for motorists to switch to cleaner vehicles."
