Responding to the announcement that the High Speed Two rail project has been given the go-ahead, Green Party Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones said: "HS2 is not a smart way to spend £17 billion if thousands of new passengers end up bottlenecked at Euston.
"No extra money has been given to upgrade the tube, which is already often working at or over capacity.
"Longer delays and even more unpleasant travelling conditions will follow, and any journey time saved on HS2 will be spent on waiting for the next tube train."
