The Met should look to reduce senior officer pay

"At a time when the Met is facing huge budget cuts, the Mayor is making civilian staff redundant rather than reducing the pay of senior officers. The Met are bearing down on the wrong costs. Civilian staff are often better value to employ and can free up officers to do the jobs they are trained to do. Otherwise the Mayor will end up with lots of highly paid officers stuck behind desks."
