Darren Johnson has accused the Mayor of London of dragging his feet by failing to install light switches in Stratford Station and many other London Underground stations, meaning that lights on open platforms are left on during the day, over two years after the problem was first brought to his attention.
Darren commented,
"It’s ridiculous that the Mayor still has lights blazing away during the day at so many stations. Imagine arriving at Stratford on a sunny day in August for the greenest games ever, only to find all the lights on. It shouldn’t take years to fit some light switches.
"Faced with deep government cuts and urgent climate change targets TfL should be pulling out the stops to save energy."
