Green Party Mayoral candidate, Jenny Jones, today joined protesters outside City Hall to call for more to be done to prioritise cycle safety.
Speaking at the ‘die-in’, Jenny Jones, said: "The quantity of needless cyclist deaths and injuries on London’s streets is tragic and infuriating.
"London needs a Mayor that can deliver on safety for all road user, and Transport for London must urgently address the need to make junctions safer for cyclists.
"A Green City Hall would introduce a 20mph limit in residential areas and ensure that all HGV drivers have cycle awareness training."
Medical research has recently shown that cyclists hit by HGVs are over three times more likely to die than cyclists in similar car crash incidents.
