“The Mayor was right to stick to his guns in insisting that the developers provide a large number of affordable homes.
However, we need to also ensure that there are proper facilities on the site for the local community, “ said Cllr. Darren Johnson AM, Leader of the Green Party Group in the London Assembly, commenting on the decision.
“We don’t want to see the whole area dominated by big mega-bucks companies without space for local businesses and local services.
Just as the Mayor has set targets for affordable housing, perhaps we also need targets for affordable businesses to help support small local businesses,” he concluded.
