Lewisham Green Party members at the launch of their local elections campaign
The London Green Party, London’s third party, is offering Londoners more opportunities than ever before to vote Green at the May 22 Local Elections.
The London Green Party is standing Council candidates in more wards than at the last election. This strong spread puts the London Greens firmly on track to best the Liberal Democrats, who are standing 200 fewer candidates than they did four years ago. The Lib Dems, whose support is cratering after four years of broken promises in Coalition government, are “hollowing out” in London according to election experts.
Jean Lambert, Green MEP for London since 1999, said:
“By voting Green on May 22 Londoners have the chance to reject the tired and destructive model of business-as-usual politics and vote for real positive change, change for the common good.”
The London Green Party is running full slates in Haringey, Lewisham, Hackney, Camden, Islington and Croydon and standing at least one candidate a ward in Barnet, Brent, Westminster, Southwark, Richmond, Greenwich, Wandsworth, Bromley, Hillingdon, Enfield, and Kingston.
