The Mayor should be using his planning powers to ensure that every new building in London is a zero emission building. New developments should be refused planning permission unless they are fitted with solar panels."
Greens commended the Mayor’s efforts to eradicate fuel poverty, but caution that the Strategy’s efforts to reduce London’s contribution to climate change were not enough.
Darren concludes, "The Mayor sets a target for every London borough to have at least one zero-carbon development by 2010. This will be too little and too late.
We have the technology. All we need now is the political will. Every new building in London should be a zero emission building."
