Poll shows Greens on 31% across European Union – UK Greens on 10%

Spencer Fitzgibbon, head of media for the Green Party of England and Wales said, "This bodes well for the Green Party and is in line with our predictions for six Members of the European Parliament."

The Leader of the Greens in the London Assembly and Mayoral Candidate for London, Darren Johnson said, "The reception I am receiving out on the streets confirms our view that Greens will do well across London and we look forward to seeing more Greens elected to the London Assembly."

The online poll is being run by the Brussels based EU think-tank ‘The Centre’ and has attracted 2000 respondents.

The survey also asks whether the European Parliament effectively communicates with the general public (19% yes; 74% no), whether the parliament represents public interests well (48% yes; 74% no) whether MEPs should be given a greater say in other policy areas (72% yes; 28% no) whether there should be further European integration (64% yes; 36% no) and whether the parliament should consolidate around a single seat in Brussels (86% yes, 14% no)
