Greens back unions’ fairness at work Bill

The Green Party has publicly endorsed the new Industrial Action (minor errors) Bill that will give unions fairer industrial action balloting procedures and reduce the number of court cases brought against them.

Green Party leader and MP for Brighton and Hove, Caroline Lucas, who will be attending the crucial Second Reading this Friday said:

"I am proud to back the Fairness at Work campaign and John McDonnell’s Bill to better protect the rights of ordinary working people fighting for fair pay and conditions. I will be in Parliament on October 22nd and hope enough colleagues will be too so that this important legislation can move one step closer to being adopted."

National Green Party Campaigns Co-ordinator Romayne Phoenix is calling on all Green Party members to lobby their local MP now. She says:

"Let’s see who will support this move towards protecting our civil liberties, and identify those MP’s who do not. Simply go to the United Campaign website [1] and it will take just a minute of your time to contact your own MP."

In order for the Bill’s Second Reading to take place 100 MPs must be present in the Commons.
