Greens join London’s children to urge climate action NOW

When your house is burning you don’t call 999 and ask for a fire engine in 30 years time.

Green Parliamentary candidate for Hackney South & Shoreditch, Tyrone Scott with young Greens at the Climate StrikeLondon’s children became climate leaders, as the school climate strikes saw 100,000 people take to the streets to demand immediate action to prevent catastrophic climate breakdown. Greens stood side by side with them.

Young Green and London Assembly candidate Hannah Graham said: “It was a wonderful and inspiring day in Parliament Square, joining the global climate strike. It was great to see so many young people demand that politicians from the old parties take their heads out of the sand and take urgent action – or my generation will face a climate catastrophe.

Green Party Assembly Member Caroline Russell said:  “Young people are showing that climate action matters. These massive peaceful protests give me hope. It’s shaming that it’s taken a new generation to wake up to the climate threat but it’s clear we need systemic change now to make a world fit for a better future.”
