In response to the planned reduction of the 50% tax bracket, Green Party Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones said:
"Thousands of Londoners are struggling to make ends meet, and the government cannot tell us to tighten our belts and cut public services while allowing those earning over 10 times the London Living Wage to take more for themselves.
"We need to reduce inequality in London, and as Mayor I would institute a 10:1 maximum pay ratio in organisations run by City Hall and work to lift people out of poverty through creating 150,000 apprenticeships and helping small businesses obtain credit."
