Green Party’s latest pledge: get London laughing again with exclusive night of comedy starring Alistair McGowan

The Green Party has announced that award-winning BBC comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan will headline a night of riotous comedy with a dash of politics on Wednesday 4th April, 7pm at the Leicester Square Theatre.

The Green Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones will host the ‘One Night Only’ event, which will also include stand-out performances from Scott Capurro, Abie Philbin Bowan’s Eco Jihad and the Socialist Magician.

All proceeds from the night will go towards the London Green Party’s campaign to get Jones elected as London Mayor and to get more Green Party representatives elected onto the London Assembly.

Jenny Jones said: "This is a fantastic and fun way to support the Green Party in the forthcoming elections.

"Our vision is to make London a more affordable, equal and healthier city for everyone to enjoy, but we need funds to make sure our campaign connects with as many Londoners as possible. We hope that hundreds of people will come along to this night of world-class comedy and help us raise the cash we need to bring green ideas to everyone’s attention."

Headliner Alistair McGowan said: "As a keen supporter of green issues, I am pleased to be presenting this dynamic night of comedy.

"With such a diverse range of comics appearing there will be something for everyone. Even better all the funds go to the London Green Party; a cause close to my heart."

Other acts appearing include Scott Capurro, Karen Bayley, Shelly Bridgman, Calen Harley, David Whitney and the compare Ed Gillespie.

Tickets will cost £20 in advance from http://j.mp/zXsDId or by phoning 08448 733433 or £22.50 on the door.
