In response to the launch of London Cycling Campaign’s Love London, Go Dutch petition, Green Mayoral candidate Jenny Jones said:
"I support this brilliant campaign.
"We need Dutch road design and Dutch rules, which give legal priority to vulnerable road users. That means standing the current Mayor’s policy on its head and giving priority to cyclists and pedestrians, rather than vehicle drivers.
"The current Mayor has refused to give positive backing to 20mph being the default speed limit. As the next London Mayor I would ensure that 20mph is the norm where Londoners live, work and shop."
The petition calls on the mayoral election candidates to commit to more people-friendly streets and continental-standard cycle facilities in the capital.
