Cancer doctors’ six marathons to Downing Street shows strength of feeling on NHS Bill

Speaking at the end of ‘Bevan’s Run’ at 10 Downing Street on Sunday evening, where two NHS oncologists will finish their sixth marathon in six days in an effort to raise awareness of the ‘dangers of the Health and Social Care Bill’, Green Party candidate Jenny Jones said:

"Those working within the NHS are in the best place to tell us what’s best for the health service, and Clive and David’s epic run demonstrates the strength of opposition to the Bill. They deserve congratulations and appreciation from all of us.

"The coalition government’s persistence with this legislation demonstrates a contempt for both the health service and the democratic process. These changes run absolutely against expert and popular opinion and if introduced will jeopardise the manner in which healthcare is provided in the UK."
