Green deputy leader boosts Stroud Green campaign

The Haringey Green Party received a welcome boost to their election campaign when the Green Party’s Deputy Leader, Adrian Ramsay, dropped by to share tips and advice and meet Stroud Green residents in a canvassing tour of the ward.

Accompanied by Stroud Green candidates Anna Bragga and Sarah Cope, Ramsay knocked on doors and spoke to voters about issues which concerned them. These included recycling, traffic, schools, the economy and anti-social behaviour.

Ramsay said: "Haringey residents have a great opportunity to elect the borough’s first Green councillors next year. Sarah and Anna are already taking up work on behalf of residents and getting real results in Stroud Green. As elected councillors, they could do much more."

Sarah Cope added: "Adrian was behind the move to get Greens elected in Norwich and now he’s got every chance of becoming one of our first MPs next year. We’re going to follow his success here in Haringey."

Anna Bragga commented: "Adrian’s genuine character and honest style is a breath of fresh air for voters, who are tired of old-school politicians, who dodge the difficult questions and fail to deliver. We are bringing a fresh approach and fresh ideas to British politics."

Notes to Editors

– Adrian Ramsay, 28, will challenge Charles Clarke for the Westminster seat of Norwich South. He is a councillor on Norwich city council where he was elected at the age of 21 with 50% of the vote.
