GREENS SLAM KENNEDY HYPOCRISY ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Darren Johnson said, "The Liberal Democrats are so concerned about the environment that they could not even bother to respond to Greenpeace when asked about their policies on three major issues of environmental concern – Chemicals, Forestry and Climate Change. Tories and Labour did not respond but that is no surprise. The Liberal Democrats, however play on their environmental record but support road building and further airport expansion when it suits them. The fact that they did not respond to Greenpeace shows what contempt they have for one of the UK’s leading environmental campaigning groups. "

The Green Party gave full and comprehensive answers to Greenpeace on all aspects of their policy. To date Wednesday 9th June, the other main parties still had not responded.

In a Friends of the Earth survey on environmental policy, the Green Party scored higher points than all the main parties including the Liberal Democrats even when adding their scores together. Greens were twice as good as the Liberal Democrats, five times as good as Labour and over seven times as good as the Tories.
