Let’s make London green

Let's create and enhance green spaces across the capital so everybody has easy access to open space and nature. 

• We will complete a network of green spaces and animal habitats several times the size of Hyde Park, providing everyone with easy access to nature
• We will revive natural features that help our city function efficiently, planting more trees to cool our streets and restoring flood plains and rivers to protect our homes
• We will promote responsible pet ownership through dog microchipping and work with the police to keep dangerous dogs out of parks and off our streets

THE DIFFERENCE:
Green London Assembly Members helped establish the Green Grid Scheme, while exposing and preventing widespread damage to our city's street trees.

Let's ensure all recycling and food waste is actually put to good use and processed in the capital. 

• We will make sure we all benefit from a standardised and simple system to collect recycling and food waste from doorsteps
• We will build enough waste facilities to process all the capital's recycling and generate clean energy from food waste in Greater London
• We will lead by example, ensuring that City Hall, Transport for London, the police service and the fire brigade are all zero waste and zero carbon services

THE DIFFERENCE:
Green London Assembly Members have persuaded TfL to introduce recycling facilities in Tube and Overground stations and supported campaigns against inappropriate waste facilities.
